An ‘Observational Ode’ is a tongue in cheek reflection on the absurdities of everyday life and whilst each book contains one or more frivolous pieces, and the odd serious observation, the prime intention is to make readers associate with the subject matter AND SMILE.

The first book was published in 2007 as a charitable project, and had a ‘life’ of about 5 years.  During that time it sold over 2000 copies and raised almost £18,000 for three extremely worthy charitable causes. It contained 36 different pieces.

The second book is smaller than the first, but still contains 21 pieces, written by me since the first book was published.  Its content varies from a children’s poem (written as a challenge) to a light-hearted reflection of some of the issues to be addressed as one gets older.

All profits from the sales of both books will go towards securing the future of the Nailsea Festival of Music, a charitable cause which provides the opportunity for adults and children to perform and be adjudicated in singing, piano, creative writing, music composition and speech and drama.
